The Assistant Operations Manager is a key role, responsible for the successful supervision and operational management of Industrial Services (IS) teams across static and mobile customer sites within the Midlands division. You will ensure the delivery of cost-effective, professional services, including industrial cleaning, high-pressure water jetting, vacuumation, confined space work, hazardous substance handling, and LGV driving duties.  This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, customer liaison, and HSEQ compliance.  You will prioritise your workload and delegate to meet current requirements and achieve continuous improvement to exceed customer expectations.

Business Development of Future Industrial Services – from securing new enquiries through to hand over to operations for service delivery – with a particular focus on development of general industrial services covering M5, M42, M6 and M40.
The sectors include (not exhaustive) ; Manufacturing, F&B, Automotive, Utilities, Chemical, Hygiene, Waste Management and Energy.
Services include but are not limited to wet industrial services (Jetting, Tankering, Jet Vac, CCTV, Tank entry and Cleaning), dry industrial services (DISAB) and onsite provision of labour and/or resource.

Business Development of Future Industrial Services (FIS) – from securing new enquiries through to hand over to operations for service delivery – with a particular focus on AD Plants, Power generation, Onshore Oil & Gas, Chemical, Utilities, Processing and Manufacturing, and related/similar sectors.  This work will mostly entail providing services involving the provision of specialist tankers, Jet Vacs, Disabs, Hydro-Abrasive Cutting, plus manpower, pumps and ancillary equipment to clean and remove waste products from infrastructure and storage tanks / vessels.

The role of the Industrial Services Operative is a rewarding role and very varied and the work ranges from unskilled to highly skilled: you could be involved in general site cleaning one day and a confined space tank clean with full breathing apparatus the next. You will operate in support of a variety of industries: you could be working at a cement works or an oil refinery one day and inside a sewage treatment plant or a Royal Navy vessel the next. All IS Operatives are specially trained to carry out the various aspects of the role which are all conducted under strict health and safety rules following rigorous assessment of the potential risks involved. Work is usually carried out at the convenience of the customer, so there will be a requirement to travel and to work unsociable and often long hours to complete a job on schedule. There will be a requirement to pass security clearance to gain entry to certain work sites.

The site operatives are required to work under the instruction of the Site Supervisors to ensure all operations carried out at the Berwick site are conducted safely and as described in the site Work Instructions.  They are responsible for working to instruction on allocated tasks, ensuring that they adhere to training given in tasks to maintain the safety of themselves and others.
