Our Specialist Metal Recovery Plant in Berwick-upon-Tweed has successfully completed a mercury decontamination project for The Museum of Scottish Lighthouses in Fraserburgh.
On a spectacular Scottish morning, a unique piece of Scottish history was collected by FIS and transported to Berwick-upon-Tweed Treatment Facility, where we decontaminated a mercury bath from Turnberry lighthouse for floating and rotating parabolic mirrors, returning it to the museum 1 week later.
We would like to say a special thanks to The Museum of Scottish Lighthouses team for their assistance and cooperation during all the preparation.
Future is proud and privileged to say we were involved in preserving what is the only complete set of parts of this kind in the UK.
We’re not all drums and IBC’s!
